The bye week is a good time to step back for everyone. Take a little time to relax and do something other than fret about whether the Vikings will hold onto the lead.
As the season got rolling, The Vikings Gazette — v. 2.0 — took off. Prior to my gig with Vikings Territory and PurplePTSD, I ran a self-started blog called The Vikings Gazette, achieving some very modest success along the way.
Eventually, TVG got shut down due to rising demands at VT and P/PTSD. Eventually, I came back around to TVG, re-starting it but doing so on Substack.
So far, there have been a handful of posts on the revamped TVG. Consider them below:
The Prescient Process Behind Blake Brandel’s Ascent as the Vikings’ LG1
Kwesi’s Worst Trade — And the Pivot That May Pay Off in 2024
In the NFL Since 2016, C.J. Ham Finds a Way to Keep Making Plays
And, of course, there was the intro piece that delves into my story a bit more alongside my hopes/dreams for TVG on Substack.
Currently, I’m treating Substack like a website instead of a newsletter. Rather than email out pieces, I post them to the site in the hope that readers will find their way over for a dose of Vikings content. Some Substack aficionados will find that approach less than satisfying, instead preferring something directly to their inbox.
In time, perhaps, I’ll start emailing pieces out, but the current plan is to keep getting a post up once per week on Friday morning on the website alone. So, by all means, feel free to swing by the site at that time. Oh, and feel free to share the word about another Vikings Substack that’s cranking out content on a modest-yet-consistent basis.
Not too much else to say, folks, other than I appreciate the support that has been shown so far. My full-time job is to cover the Minnesota Vikings for VT and P/PTSD, but TVG is a bit of a side project that I’m trying to get off the ground. Everyone’s support means a lot.
Enjoy being 5-0 and thanks again, everyone.
